St. Pierre - Castonguay Scholarship

One very important goal of the Terre pis Ciel Festival is to award every year a $300 scholarship to benefit a student from the Jay - Livermore - Livermore Falls area studying at University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) and wishing to spend a semester in Québec or France. The final criteria was approved on August 2004.

A scholarship for the academic year 2005-2006 has been awarded to Danielle Methot.

The UMF Scholarship Committee has selected the first recipient for the St Pierre - Castonguay Scholarship for the 2004-05 academic year.

Her name is Kelly LeClerc from Jay, ME. Her major is elementary education, and she will be a junior next year. She wrote, "I come from a hard working family who holds strong values in life." She works summers to pay for her education, and she recently applied to work as a student assistant. "I truly enjoy helping people" she said.

There were no applicants minoring in French or planning to go to Canada or France to study.
